CHERIE MAY EDWARDS, LPC-S

Cherie May Edwards, LPC-S is a licensed professional counselor with more than 15 years of experience working with clients (ages 4 and up) from diverse backgrounds. Cherie completed her undergraduate studies at The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa in 1994. She graduated with a Masters in Counseling from The University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2005. Cherie has been a counseling supervisor since 2015.

While Cherie provides treatment in many common areas such as anxiety, depression, divorce recovery, and grief, she has advance training and/or significant experience in the treatment of bipolar disorder, codependency, and substance abuse. Cherie is also a CERTIFIED EMDR clinician, specializing in Trauma, PTSD, and Minority Health Issues.
PHILOSOPHY: Everyone gets to a place in life where friends and family are too close to help. Counseling is the place for you to explore your own thoughts and feelings in a confidential, safe environment. We will build a healthy therapeutic relationship, where I will guide you in discovering more about yourself and your patterns of behavior. Together, we will develop a plan for you to establish new, healthy patterns of behavior and coping.
